Ever since June 21,adopted as International Day of Yoga, proposed by the Prime Minister, Modi by the UN General Assembly, began this controversy whether yoga can be included in the school curriculum. Yoga is only a technique of attaining a state of super consciousness. Those , speak against it fail to see the spiritual aspects of yoga. They fail to realise its potential benefits in uniting the body, mind and breath. Even the Muslim Law Board expressed concern over the inclusion of yoga in schools. In this context, the Government and Educational planners, instead of making yoga a compulsory subject in the curriculum, they can think of bringing yoga as separate department (area) where interested students from all faiths can be opted to join and practice.
